About
Maggie is best described as an inveterate traveller. For more than fifteen years she has travelled extensively in Europe and Britain. After returning from three years living in London, her passion for independent travel is as strong as ever. Having had opportunities to live in many different places, [if only for periods of one or two weeks] she strongly believes in ‘slow travel’.
“Getting to know your way around in a city or a country village, on foot or by public transport, gives you a great sense of independence and freedom.” Staying long enough in each place, to settle into your accommodation and unpack, get to be recognized in the local coffee bar, and be brave enough to try a few words of a new language, really adds so much value to a holiday. It’s fun pretending to be a local, and whenever you return on another trip, you’ll feel ‘at home’ and familiar, because you’ve spent time getting to know the place.
“Many Australians would love to travel to Europe and Britain, but don’t feel confident enough to set off or do the planning by themselves. My aim in setting up www.bonvoyage.net.au is to encourage people to think differently about group travel. You don’t have to ‘do’ 16 countries in 16 days. In fact it would be so much better to ‘do’ a little of just one country in 16 days! And with just a small number of people”.
Each year Maggie offers three or four carefully planned Guided Holidays in Spring and Autumn, for small groups of four to seven participants, to experience and enjoy ’slow travel’. So give her a call now and have a chat about when and where you’d like to go. See what previous guests have had to say about their BonVoyage Guided Holiday – TESTIMONIALS
